Dear Unit Leaders and Committee Chairs:
We are proud to announce a focusing on our efforts to ensure that 100% of our adult leaders are current on their Youth Protection Training (YPT) with the appointment of two volunteers to be the Twin Valley District Youth Protection Training Champions: Bob Pierce (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Frank Thomas (email@example.com). Bob will be working with Dublin, Pleasanton, and Sunol unit leaders to provide information and support on Youth Protection Training while Frank will be working with Livermore unit leaders and District Committee members in the same capacity.
Each Committee Chair and Unit Leader (CM, SM, ADV) has the self-service ability to get your unit’s training status via http://my.scouting.org now to contact your leaders who are not currently trained or whose training will expire soon. Once you log in, click on Menu, then your unit, then Training Manager, then the red part of the pie chart in the YPT area. [If you need assistance with my.scouting.org, please read this FAQ document (http://www.scouting.org/filestore/idg/MyScouting_Tools_FAQs.pdf). Page 2 is particularly helpful.]
Please remember that individuals must have taken YPT within the last two years to be considered currently trained. Our goal is to be 100% trained district-wide, currently only 87% of our registered leaders are listed as trained in the BSA national database.
